The kick-off meeting (M1) of the PACTIS project was held online via Webex on Wednesday 8 December 2021.

The project coordinator and project manager Mr. Christos Mitsokapas opened the meeting by welcoming the participating project partner, CERTH/IDEP. He then briefly presented the purpose of the meeting. This was followed by a brief introduction of the participants of each organisation and their role in the project.
The meeting included a brief presentation of all the organisations on their research interests, staff, main activities, equipment, facilities, the connection of each organisation with the project and the work of each organisation for each EU.
Initially, a brief presentation of the coordinator (VASSILIOS LAMBROU HOTEL BUSINESSES S.A.) was made by Mr. Mitsokapa Christos. Mr. Mitsokapas spoke about the activities of the company and its facilities. He also presented the energy consumption of the hotel complex as well as the waste streams. He mentioned the reason why this partner joined the project, as well as the actions that will be carried out for the public promotion of the project. Ms. Xyptera Evangelia spoke about the project logo and the website that has been created and the information that it should include. Reference was made to the electronic application that will be implemented in the framework of this project and its contribution to the hotel sector.
Afterwards, a brief presentation of the CERC/IDEP was given by Mr. Panagiotis Grammelis and a general presentation of the project and the analysis of the central idea of “PRAXIS” by Mr. Petros Dallas. Mr. Dallas referred to the equipment available to the CSTEA/IDEP, which will be mainly used during the EU2 and more specifically in the inventory of the existing situation of the hotel unit. In addition, he presented the timetable of the works. The framework of the work schedule for each EU of the project and the deliverables per partner were discussed in detail by Mr.Vouros Panagiotis. In Mr. Vouros ‘ presentation, the time horizon for the execution of each project action was defined and the actions that have been carried out so far by the CERD/IDEP were presented. Mr. Vouros referred to the scheduling of meetings to be held immediately at the hotel unit. Mr. Konstantinos Evagelinos presented similar actions developed by the institution as well as its experience in circular economy issues. In addition, Mr. Evagelinos arranged the visit of the CERTA/IDEP in the context of the inventory of the existing situation of the hotel. He referred to the methodology to be applied during the recording and separation of waste streams.
Then followed the presentation of the financial data of the project by Mr. Mavromatidis Fotis. The budget of the project was discussed and the documents / supporting documents that will be needed for the certification request regarding staff, equipment, travel, services, consumables and other costs were presented. A reference was also made to the amendment requests. Lastly, agreements and the updating of the PSCE codes were discussed.
The coordinating body (Vassilios Lamprou HOTEL COMPANIES S.A.) presented data on the public promotion of the project such as the creation of a website, the creation of brochures and promotional material, the participation of the participants in conferences, workshops and seminars etc. Finally, the project logo was presented.
The next meeting will take place with the visit of the team of the CERTA/IDEP in 2 phases to the Mediterranean Village hotel complex in the P.E. of Pieria in early and mid-winter in order to carry out the recording of its current status.
The project coordinator Mr. Mitsokapas Christos declared the end of the meeting thanking the stakeholders for their participation.
